Imagine stepping into a city sitting below sea level, where the Caspian breeze meets modern skyscrapers and ancient stone towers. That’s Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. As we arrive, we’re drawn in by the seaside boulevard, cobbled alleys of the Old City, and a gentle energy that feels both historic and fresh.
But this isn’t just a postcard — we’re here to explore with real practical tips: how to get around, where to stay, what to eat, and how much everything costs.
When to Visit & Best Time
From our experience, the best times to visit Baku are April to June and September to October. During these months, the weather is pleasantly mild, sea breezes cool the city, and outdoor walking is just wonderful. Summers can get very hot, and winters tend to be windy and chilly.
